Both Caroline and Cris agree that there were fireworks from the moment they laid eyes on each other. Little could they fathom that only a few years later they would be saying 'I do' in an intimate night ceremony... that no one knew about!
Caroline contacted Andii Mihay Events with an idea to lead their guests astray and invite them to a faux 'engagement party', unbeknown to them we would commence the intricate and exciting process of wedding planning!
For the cocktail styled reception, the bride-to-be loved the idea of an abundance of hanging lanterns and the use of blush, lavender, silver and burgundy tones throughout the decor. Along with this palette we wanted to combine the essence of elegant romance and infuse it with a touch of nature. The Terrace Gardens venue promotes gorgeous rainforest-esque greenery, so to compliment the surroundings we chose to incorporate foliage, flowers, wood and moss (yes real moss) into the decor.
The centre and highlight of the room was the 100cm custom-made fern heart that sat front and centre of a pink and purple themed lolly buffet/cake table. The heart held one blush Peony and one soft pink Dahlia to add a pop of subtle colour to the mix.
In any elegant event, I believe that candles are a great addition to add class and ambiance to the room. We decided that a pillar candle, accompanied by a floating candle in cylinder vases would be the perfect centrepiece to sit on top of a sparkling silver sequinned table runner. The candles paired perfectly with the sheer fairy light backdrop behind the cake table.
The ceremony was set up, in darkness, around the back. A cheeky announcement was made to the guests asking them to meet around the back where a surprise awaits. Here they were greeted to an intimate, circular styled ceremony, where the Groom was nervously standing front and centre. The stunning Bride made her way down to meet her future hubby, wearing a beautiful white and silver gown that glistened perfectly under our festoon lighting. It was something out of a romance novel and I can assure you there was not a dry eye in the venue!
